The Govt. of Assam in Department of Housing and Urban Affairs implementing urban development scheme namely –City Infrastructure Development Fund (CIDF) for the infrastructure development of 15 towns excluding Guwahati. At present 227 projects with involvement of Rs.105746.89 lakhs have been taken up for implementation and Govt. of Assam has released an amount of Rs. 68750.32 lakh for the ongoing and completed projects under SOPD. Out of total sanctioned projects so far 165 have been physically completed and 142 projects have been both physically and financially completed. Government has decided to complete all ongoing projects and committed to clear all past liabilities.
