The Directorate of Town & Country Planning under Urban Development Department is the SLNA for the two components of JNNURM namely the Integrated Housing and Slum Development Programme (IHSDP) and Urban Infrastructure Development of Small & Medium Towns (UIDSSMT) for small & medium towns in Assam.

As on October 2022, The Govt. of India had sanctioned 30 (Thirty) infrastructure development project for total estimated amount of Rs.208.51 crores under UIDSSMT of JNNURM. So far GoI had released for an amount of Rs. 153.22 Crores and Govt. of Assam has released Rs.19.60 crores as State matching Share, which are being implemented by concerned ULBs. Out of 30 projects, 24 projects have been sucessfully completed as on date.
